I just sent an IC by mail from Canada to USA.
= It is in thin foam stapled between card and in an envelope.
It should h= ave cost about $3 Cdn (.78 exchange rate) but it cost $9.18 Cdn (about $7.2= 5 US). A bit steep for a gift.
I demanded an explanation as to why it d= id not go by lettermail the way it would have in the past.
Below is the= reply. Be aware of this if you are getting gifts from Canada.
It seem= s to be the USPS fault. I know they have screwed up many things like collec= ting tax that is not due.
