Russian Chicken Pie
Russian Chicken Pie
Our version of Russian chicken pie or kurnik is made with chicken, rice, hard-cooked eggs, mushrooms, and a flaky crust. When it comes to the crust, anything goes. It can be made with pie dough, savory pastry dough, or puff pastry. We went with a food-processor cream cheese pastry crust, which we think elevates this dish to entirely new heights.

Things We're Reading, Loving, Pondering
There's been a lot of talk about whole milk's comeback. The green M&M is sexy. This Jezebel piece about the "cursed" history of the sexy green M&M was the best thing we read this week. We also loved this NYT piece about the joy of biting into a slice of raw red onion. Eater's guide to "the most divisive and misunderstood denizen of the candy aisle" (licorice) was a fun little read. The Washington Post published a column that disparaged Indian food, this criticism of that piece is a lot better.
