Remodeling Your Home
It is possible to complete smaller-scale home remodels in a single weekend—I promise! And after your amazing DIY remodel, I recommend kicking back and admiring your handiwork with a giant sandwich and cold beer.

About Home: How to Make Small Spaces Look and Feel Bigger

If you can't see this email, click here

About

From Christina Donnelly, your About Home Editor
Even if you have a small home, that doesn't mean it can't have huge style. From the kitchen, to the living room, to the bathroom, to the bedroom, our Experts have smart, space-saving and on-trend ways to make the small spaces in your home look and feel gigantic.

Making a Small Kitchen Work
Between preparing meals and simply hanging around the kitchen (everyone in your family gravitates to the kitchen, too, right?), a roomy, functional and efficient kitchen is a must. But not all of us are lucky enough to have a massive kitchen! Whether you're remodeling your kitchen, dying for more counter space or simply looking for organization ideas, we've got ways to turn your tiny kitchen into a space worthy of the Iron Chefs.

Designing a Family-Friendly Small Living Room
Second only to the kitchen, families gather in the living room. So, what happens if you have a tiny living room and a big family? Or a tiny living room and a small family that has major energy? Try rearranging your furniture, keeping the space ultra-organized and changing up your living room décor. You'll be amazed at the difference small changes can make!

Making Your Small Bathroom Feel Bigger
Small bathrooms need seriously smart design. Because you don't have lots of space to work with and it can be very difficult to change plumbing and lighting, generally, you have to work with what you've got. But fear not, my fellow small bathroom occupants! Simply updating your bathroom's décor and finding the right storage solutions can open up a ton of space. If you're feeling really ambitious, learn how to use bold, bright designs, without making your bathroom feel smaller.

How to Design and Decorate Your Small Bedroom
Your bedroom should be an oasis—which can be difficult if you feel like the walls are closing in on you! Luckily, making your bedroom look and feel bigger is as easy as changing the wall color, finding the right-sized furniture or even building your own space-saving Murphy bed. And if your kids' tiny rooms need a makeover, too, don't miss our kid-friendly décor ideas.

About Home: Jump-Start Your Spring Gardening

If you can't see this email, click here

About

From Christina Donnelly, your About Home Editor
It's finally time to dig into the dirt and plant, prune and prep your garden for warmer weather. Spring is the busiest season in the garden: your plants are waking up from their loooong nap, mulch needs to be removed and winter debris has to be cleared out—all before you can really get started. So, grab your to-do list and gardening tools, and get busy!

Flowers, Plants & Veggies
After being stuck inside for a long, cold winter, you're probably dying to get out there and start caring for the garden! Start with a gardening to-do list—you'll be better prepared to take full advantage of the nicer spring days. And even if it's a little cloudy out there, your plants still need to be pruned, fed and weeded. (P.S. - if you're anything like me and spent most of the winter curled up on the couch, take a few minutes to warm up and stretch before diving into your work.)

Organic Gardening
Whether you're starting an organic garden or simply looking for new ways to help your organic garden thrive, you'll find that caring for an organic garden is slightly different than caring for a conventional garden—both legally and in practice. Test your soil to determine the kinds of plants your garden can sustain—and the work that needs to be done—whip up your April gardening to-do list and ... start counting all the dough you'll save by growing your own organic veggies and brewing tea made from flowers straight outta your garden.

Container Gardening
Did you know you can grow an entire garden in a few containers? Container gardening is an awesome alternative for those of us who have too little space for a large garden. All you need is a few containers, the right plants and a little creativity; we've got the tips, tricks and advice to help your container garden thrive!

Landscaping & Lawn Care
The best thing about warmer weather? It's barbecue season! Putting some hard work into your yard and landscaping right now will help you enjoy your outdoor spaces all summer long. Just like your home, your yard requires a little spring cleaning before you can really get to work. Then, focus on proper spring lawn care, pruning your shrubs and conquering crabgrass before it gets a chance to spread!

About Home: Easy Ways to Refresh Your Home's Colors

If you can't see this email, click here

About

From Christina Donnelly, your About Home Editor
Looking for a quick, easy way to update your home? Give your spaces a dose of color! Whether you go big and bold with a bright accent wall or simply add touches of color with fun home accessories, our About Home Experts have smart tips, tricks and advice to amp up your home's color wattage. (Want even more ideas? Follow our Pinterest boards for some extra inspiration!)

How to Decorate with Color
Now, before you go all crazy with the teal wall paint, gold leaf and chevron textiles, try creating a color mood board to inspire the room you're working on. Knowing how to properly blend colors and patterns—and having an idea of how they'll look in your space—can help create a cohesive, beautiful design. The last thing you want is for a room to look like a rainbow barfed on it—right?

Finding the Right Color Scheme
Choosing the right color scheme for a room can totally make the space. First, you'll need to decide on the style of the room: do you love Tuscan-style decorating? The ever-popular mid-century modern style? Or do you want a beautifully coordinated, neutral color palette? Once you've made your decision, grab your inspiration board and get to work!

Colorful Home Interiors
Updating your home's interiors is really the fastest, easiest and most affordable way to decorate with color. Your options are basically endless: choose a colorful sofa to give your living room a dramatic focal point (or top it with a pretty slipcover); incorporate Pantone's Color of the Year, Radiant Orchid, into your interior décor; or refresh home accessories you already have with a good coat of spray paint.

Colorful Home Exteriors
Your home's exterior is the first thing visitors and passersby see—so why not make it as beautiful and inviting as you can? Whether you're inspired by historical homes or by more modern looks, changing exterior colors can completely change your home's style, presence and—hey—maybe even its energy.
