From Diane Schmidt, your About House & Home Editor
The official start of spring is less than a week away and with the lengthening days and the extra energy we feel as the temperatures begin to warm, along with the need to get rid of those winter dust bunnies that have been hiding beneath the bed, it's time for a little cleaning - inside and out.

Spring Clean Your Garden
Who knew you should spring clean your garden? But what better excuse to dig in the dirt than following this guide to preparing your garden for the upcoming growing season.

Spring Clean Your Meal Planning
This is something I desperately need to do. Our meals have become tedious and boring. Spring is the perfect time to revamp, get creative and try something new.

Spring Cleaning Checklist
Here's the best checklist for spring cleaning your home that I've ever come across. With everything from how to scrub the grill for the upcoming barbecue season to getting rid of garage leftovers, your home will be free of dust, dirt and debris.

Clear Your Clutter
Speaking of debris, clearing your clutter is the best part of spring cleaning - getting rid of the old, the unwanted, the unused - leaving your home (and you) feeling airy and light, like it can breathe again.

About.com

From Diane Schmidt, your About House & Home Editor
St. Patrick's Day is a great reason to celebrate all things green. Whether you're throwing a party for the people you love (with a green-theme), helping kids make their own shamrocks, or turning the color green into a way of life, everything you need is right here.

A St. Patrick's Day Party for the Whole Family
This is the first time I'll be hosting a St. Patrick's Day party at our house and while I was hesitant when friends first suggested it, once I found this article, I knew the party would be a hit.

St. Patrick's Day Crafts & Activities
If you're hosting a party or an after-school event, you're going to need some things for the little ones to do. My favorite? Building a Leprechaun trap!

8 Tips for Green Cleaning
If you're not into the St.Patrick's Day festivities, you can still think green when it comes to cleaning your home. Check out this article on how to green-clean your home from top to bottom.

Getting Out the Green
Speaking of cleaning, some of the worst stains I've ever encountered have been from St.Patrick's Day festivities. Take the time someone spilled green beer on my favorite white shirt. Or the time my niece smeared green icing on a pair of new khakis. Or...well, you get the picture.

Houses of the Future
It wasn't until I read this article that I realized that prefab homes are not our parent's flimsy structures, but creative, innovative and elegant designs that anyone would be proud to call home.

The New Generation of Hybrids
